You may wish to create a young forest on your property for a variety of reasons. Perhaps you want to grow trees in an area that is not a forest now. Or maybe poor management in the past has left you with a forest of poor quality trees that show little promise and leave you with few options. You may wish to create habitat for wildlife, such as ruffed grouse, that thrive in the brushy habitats that young forests provide. Depending upon your situation, your forester may recommend that you use one or more of the methods described below. |
