Nutritional Value of Various Insects Per 100 grams

They're nutritious! Just check out this table from The Food Insects Newsletter, July 1996 (Vol. 9, No. 2, ed. by Florence V. Dunkel , Montana State University) and Bugs In the System, by May Berenbaum. In fact, in 1885 Vincent M. Holt's essay "Why Not Eat Insects" suggested that in addition to being tasty and nutritious, insects might also be the antidote to hunger in England. He offered several recipes and provided a menu of dishes with French names.
