The Riparian Area Management Plan - Decide Upon and Implement Actions

The third step in the planning process is determining what actions you will take, where they will occur, when they will happen, how they will be done, and what they will achieve. These decisions will be based on such factors as:

  • Specific conditions of the riparian area,
  • Resources you have available,
  • What other demands might be made on these resources,
  • Specific techniques which might be applied to your situation,
  • Possible impacts of a proposed action on other parts of your operation,
  • How quickly you can expect to achieve an objective.

The material covered in "Stream Channel and Riparian Area Monitoring Guide" and your answers to the riparian inventory questions in the "Do It Yourself" portions of this tutorial will provide the basis for making these decisions.
