Unit 1: Forest Management Issues
Introduction

Forest management is concerned with practical activities aimed at fulfilling the owners’ goals and objectives, while at the same time maintaining the productivity of the forest.

Today, many forest landowners use a version of adaptive management in which goals are flexible and allow landowners to take advantage of new opportunities as they arise.

In order to take full advantage of the opportunities associated with biomass, forest landowners should craft and implement management plans that fulfill all of the goals for their forest stand.
