Submodule 5: Most Common Western Rangelands Weeds
12 Common Western Rangeland Weeds
While there are hundreds of invasive plants endangering the integrity of western rangelands, there are a handful that pose serious problems. Presented here are some of the most problematic western weeds based on the size of infestations. This is by no means meant to be a comprehensive treatment of the worst western offenders. At the end of this submodule, you will find links to find out more about invasive plants in your area.
The purpose of the part of the submodule is to help you identify weeds so you can report infestations or treat them. For each weed there is a brief physical description of the weed including height, growth characteristics, leaf shape, and flower color and when flowers are present. You will also see photographs of flowers and the whole plant to aid in identification.
