As you can see, countries all around the world are beginning to take notice of the potential of woody biomass as a source of energy and as a raw material that can replace many petroleum-based products. The potential exists among southern forests here in the U.S. to make use of woody biomass as well. With the development of a competitive market for bioenergy and bio-based products we will be able to take advantage of the many economic and environmental benefits of using woody biomass.
