Unit 2: Conversion Processes
Introduction
Biomass can be converted into useful forms of energy (e.g. solid, liquid, or gaseous fuels) as well as useful products (e.g. polymers, plastics, char, pellets, acids, etc.) using a number of different technological processes. The following lessons briefly cover the two main conversion and production processes for obtaining bio-based energy and products:  bio-chemical and thermochemical.

 

 

This unit is comprised of two lessons that describe the major processes used to convert woody biomass into some type of product.
