Submodule 9: Controlling Weeds

You have completed Submodule 9.

Summary: Major Points from Submodule 9

  • Because weed management is so important on western rangelands, many public and private agencies and organizations put vast resources in educating professionals and the public about invasive plants.

  • In addition, many organizations and agencies provide web and printed resources on weed identification, volunteer opportunities, and educational programs for K-12. Links to regional information, such as for the Colorado Plateau and the four-corners area, are also provided.

  • Each western state has a Native Plant Society. These organizations are committed to protecting native plants and educating the public about the dangers of western rangeland weeds; links are provided to each state’s website.
