Barnyardgrass Other names: wild millet
Description: Annual warm-season grass of natural
height 12 to 39 inches tall with flat or folded leaves
that are usually smooth but may have some hairs. Grows
in upland areas as well as low, moist soils. Can
be particularly abundant in mud flats.
Wildlife value: Produces choice seeds for ducks, mourning
doves, and other birds in the Southeast.
