Persimmon
Description: A small tree that bears pale orange
fruits. Male and female flowers are yellow and bell-shaped
with four petals. Leaves are oval or elliptical with
long points and smooth edges. The bark is dark and
checkered.
Wildlife value: Deer, fox, skunk, bear, coyote and
other mammals and songbirds feed on the fruit which turns
sweet to the taste after frost.
