Description: perennial grasses with some in this family
being annual tufted grasses. All have distinctive flat seeds
along spike-like branches.
Wildlife value: heavy producers of seed that are eaten by
bobwhites, wild turkey, doves, songbirds, small mammals,
and waterfowl. A low preference of white-tailed deer. |
