Smartweed

Description: Slender leaves are present on reddish
stems. Small pink flowers with reddish buds appear
on the upper part of the stem, which can grow up to four
feet high. More common in wet areas, or moist soils
near water.
Wildlife value: Seeds are eaten by Northern bobwhites,
mourning doves, waterfowl, and songbirds.
